The EG7+ is suitable for high-wall applications, reaching 24 feet for sanding, painting, and level 4 finishing.
Okibo, the industry leader in construction robotics innovation that provides value-added safety and efficiency to experienced teams, announced today the nationwide launch of the EG7+ robot. The company’s fully autonomous, AI-guided painting and drywall finishing robot made its debut last month at Hensel Phelps’ Federal and AEC Innovation Day in Phoenix, AZ, and received positive reaction from delegates in the AEC industry.
The EG7+ is suitable for high-wall applications, reaching 24 feet for sanding, painting, and level 4 finishing.
“We were delighted to invite Okibo to join in our event last month, which focused on creative technologies that meet the industry’s need for safer and more efficient building processes. The EG7+ displayed an impressive level of autonomy and precision for high walls, capturing the attention of everyone present. This robot is more than simply a tool; it represents a significant advancement in preserving our professional labor while maintaining great quality. “We are excited about the potential of the EG7+,” adds Thai Nguyen of Hensel Phelps.
The EG7+ is battery-powered and does not require any site preparation, external references, or technical knowledge to operate. Unlike systems that rely on external markers or BIM tools, the EG7+ uses a patented AI-driven 3D scanning and real-time modeling algorithm for navigation and execution. It can complete an average of 1,000 square feet per hour while running totally autonomously, with no wires, pumps, or Wi-Fi required. The robot is highly maneuverable in restricted spaces, weighing only 800 pounds and measuring only 27 inches broad with an omnidirectional serve drive.
“With the EG7+, finish crews are noticing a significant reduction in physical burnout and tiredness due to the elimination of repetitive overhead work. Customers have reported up to a 5x boost in productivity for Level 4 and Level 5 sanding operations while maintaining quality standards,” says Nadav Shuruk, Okibo’s COO and co-founder.
