Alarm.com announced the 781B Battery Video Doorbell on Oct. 6, 2026, a rechargeable, Wi-Fi-connected doorbell that brings intelligent video to side doors, garages, gates and other entryways that lack doorbell wiring.
The Tysons, Va., company designed the 781B for homeowners and businesses that want video coverage where running new wiring may be impractical, including front, side and back doors, detached garages, gates and sheds. It does not need a hub or base station and is offered through Alarm.com service providers.
Energy Saver Video Analytics help conserve battery power during inactivity. The removable battery can be swapped out, or the doorbell can use optional wiring for continuous trickle charging. The same universal rechargeable battery also fits the Alarm.com Volt Series™ V731B Battery Camera.
A square 1:1 view captures visitors from head to toe. Advanced Video Analytics identify people, animals, vehicles and packages, and the 781B is the first Alarm.com battery video doorbell with animal and vehicle detection. Familiar Face Analytics can recognize up to five familiar people, and Package Alerts track deliveries and package removals.
Users can talk to visitors through two-way audio and use Call Screen Actions to unlock doors or turn on lights from the doorbell screen. Perimeter Guard® combines lights and audio alerts with connected property lighting, and AI Deterrence can deliver AI-generated verbal warnings when a person is detected.
“The 781B brings intelligent video, proactive deterrence, and connected actions to more entryways,” said Dan Kerzner, President of Platforms Business at Alarm.com. “It gives our service providers another strong wireless option for delivering comprehensive video coverage across a property.”
The 781B supports Bluetooth® Enrollment for faster setup by service providers. The doorbell is supported across several Alarm.com residential and commercial video service plans, though available features depend on the plan.
