Metabo HPT’s new Cordless Pneumatics line uses an onboard Air Spring Drive System Plus to deliver pneumatic-like firing speed and drive consistency in fully cordless framing, metal-connector, and duplex nailers.
Metabo HPT, a KOKI Group company, introduced Cordless Pneumatics, which it calls a first-of-its-kind nailer category for North America intended to match pneumatic speed, power, and drive consistency without external hoses or compressors. The tools target professional framing crews dealing with tighter schedules and labor constraints, with the company arguing that eliminating compressor setup, hose management, and teardown can reclaim substantial jobsite time.
“Pros have been telling us for years what they want: pneumatic performance without the hose and compressor,” said Joe Leffler, president of Metabo HPT North America. “Cordless Pneumatics is a category designed to give Pros a true pneumatic alternative, one that helps them move faster and work more freely without sacrificing the performance they’ve relied on for decades.”
Cordless Pneumatic Nailers use Air Spring Drive System Plus, which stores and releases compressed air inside the tool. Metabo HPT cites firing speeds up to six nails per second for high-volume work such as subfloor and wall sheathing, and up to 1,170 nails per charge on 18V MultiVolt 10.0Ah T-PWR Tabless batteries. Select models accept interchangeable magazines, and the company says routine on-site service can take as little as about 10 minutes. “Making cordless nailers match pneumatic performance required solving two engineering problems at once: matching pneumatic driving power and matching pneumatic firing speed,” said Bernd Fleischmann, Chief Technology Officer for KOKI Group. “Air Spring Drive System Plus combines the proven air spring architecture that has powered our cordless nailers from the start with a new Enhanced Lift Mechanism that doubles shot frequency over the previous generation. That is what makes true cordless pneumatic performance possible.”
The line begins rolling out in September 2026 through independent retailers and Lowe’s (stores and online). Kits start at $579 and include the nailer, an 18V/36V MultiVolt 5.0Ah/10.0Ah T-PWR Tabless battery, rapid charger, magazine, and bag.
