Rheem, a global leader in water heating and HVACR solutions, has announced design enhancements to its award-winning ProTerra Hybrid Electric Heat Pump Water Heater line. The new design changes greatly shorten installation time for ProTerra, the market’s most efficient hybrid electric water heater.
“Building on the success of the ProTerra line, we worked with a team of plumbers to add features that allow for a quick and flexible installation for the contractor, resulting in additional cost savings for homeowners,” said James Courtney, director of product management at Rheem Manufacturing.
The ProTerra versions come in 40-, 50-, 65-, and 80-gallon sizes and offer quick-install features like improved top-of-the-tank water connections and a duct-ready design. Built-in Demand-Response-Ready EcoPort and Wi-Fi powered by Rheem’s EcoNet technology provide smart features. The built-in LeakGuard technology, which includes 360-degree leak detection and an auto water shut-off valve, helps to protect homes.
ProTerra, which is ENERGY STAR 5.0 certified, uses up to 75% less energy than a typical electric water heater and is eligible for various municipal rebates and tax credits of up to $2,000.
