Alpen Launches Its New Zenith Sliding Glass Door Series

Alpen’s Zenith series was designed to provide consumers with a larger door choice that is easier to open and close, as well as increased energy efficiency and the strength to meet national wind and climate change laws.

Alpen High Performance Products (Alpen), the premier American provider of advanced window, door, and insulated glass technology, has launched its new Zenith Sliding Glass Door line. Alpen’s Zenith series was designed to provide consumers with a larger door choice that is easier to open and close, as well as increased energy efficiency and the strength to meet national wind and climate change laws. The series is divided into two models: the Grandline and the Narrowline, each with its own set of features and performance benefits.

“Ultimately, our goal is to deliver doors that are bigger, stronger, and more functional than ever before,” Alpen Product Development Director Alison Ray stated. “This door excels in functionality by providing a smoother and easier rolling movement due to its well developed rollers. The strong, thicker-walled profiles and fiberglass interlocks resist warping in high-heat/high-UV situations, and the sash locks into a deep frame pocket for a solid and airtight connection. In short, the Zenith outperforms any sliding door Alpen has produced, striking a beautiful balance between aesthetics, functionality, and the natural environment.”

Due to increased customer demand, Alpen is currently developing taller Grandline doors for future release. Alpen has collaborated with an engineering firm to assess the sliding glass door system’s capacity to fulfill more stringent wind load criteria, as defined in the revised ASCE 7 wind load maps.

Zenith sliding glass doors have the following features:

    • Designs that use the clean lines and minimalism of modern design to increase glass surfaces for better sight lines and to open interior living spaces to the outdoors.
    • Durable, all-fiberglass frames covered with Alpen’s recently launched, best-in-class paint system providing 14 standard paint colors, including split finishes.
    • Advanced roller assemblies with polymer wheels, precision bearings, and a single bogie carriage for balanced load distribution ensure smooth and silent operation. Rollers are AAMA 906 approved, ensuring durability and reduced rolling resistance.
    • Raised sliding sill track ensures longer-lasting roll.
    • Integrated screen track for increased functionality and convenience.
    • Warp-resistant fiberglass interlocks

Alpen’s ThinGlass Triple (TGT) and ThinGlass Quad (TGQ) pane insulated glass can be used on Zenith doors. The energy efficiency performance data for each type of glass used in the Zenith series, as well as a detailed product description, are available online.
