Trimble Announces SMS Equipment As First Trimble Technology Outlet Globally

Trimble Technology Outlets are a new and significant component of Trimble’s expanding civil construction distribution strategy.

Trimble has announced SMS Equipment, Inc. as its first Trimble Technology Outlet worldwide. As a Trimble Technology Outlet, SMS Equipment will now market Trimble grade control, site positioning systems, and corrective services technology directly to SMS Equipment customers that use dozers, excavators, compactors, and compact equipment from reputable brands such as Komatsu, BOMAG, and Takeuchi.

Trimble Technology Outlets are a new and significant component of Trimble’s expanding civil construction distribution strategy. By expanding the Trimble distribution channel to include authorized resellers from a wide range of manufacturers, users of all machine types will find it easier to acquire, install, and use Trimble technology to boost jobsite productivity and profitability.

Improved Technology Access for SMS Equipment Customers

SMS Equipment is committed to cooperating with customers by delivering world-class technological support as a one-stop shop for construction technology solutions. SMS Equipment, with over 40 locations in Canada and Alaska, is one of the world’s largest Komatsu dealers, ensuring that customers have the correct technology for their operations.

“Trimble has one of the most established distribution channels in the industry, and we are excited to be expanding it even further with the addition of our first Trimble Technology Outlet,” said Ron Bisio, senior vice president, field systems at Trimble. “Our goal is to make it as simple as possible for contractors with all types of equipment to use Trimble technology to achieve smarter operations in both the digital and physical realms. SMS Equipment’s geographic reach, commitment to excellence, and collaborative approach position it perfectly to provide Trimble solutions to Komatsu, BOMAG, and Takeuchi customers in Western Canada.”

“We’re thrilled to extend our long-standing relationship with Trimble and strengthen our position as a trusted technology partner,” says Mike Brown, executive vice president of technology and innovation at SMS Equipment. “Our ability to deliver the Trimble lineup streamlines our service and reduces implementation timelines, ultimately improving our customer support and ensuring they are maximizing the return on their investment in Trimble technology.”

Trimble’s grade control systems include sensors, software, and automation capabilities to help operators work more efficiently. Trimble technology improves accuracy and safety while decreasing machine wear and tear and fuel consumption.
