Leviton unveiled the ATLAS-X1 FDT MILLENNIUM Category 6A Global Copper Shielded System

This system includes Leviton’s all-new, next-generation Category 6A shielded cable, FDT for Foil Reduced Diameter Technology.

Leviton has announced the availability of the ATLAS-X1 FDT MILLENNIUM Category 6A global copper shielding system. This system includes Leviton’s all-new, next-generation Category 6A shielded cable, FDT for Foil Reduced Diameter Technology. The FDT cable uses an F/UTP construction to provide the lowest outer diameter F/UTP Category 6A-rated cable on the market. It is available in all suitable fire safety classifications globally, including Plenum, Riser, CPR, and LSZH.

The ATLAS-X1 FDT MILLENNIUM system, which uses ATLAS-X1 shielded connectivity and FDT cable, effectively suppresses alien crosstalk and is perfect for ensuring signal integrity in noisy interior conditions with limited pathway space. In short, this leads to easier installs and higher cost reductions.

Precision Twist Technology, a unique technology that accurately manages variation in the cable’s twist, powers the all-new FDT cable, providing Category 6A performance in a significantly smaller form factor. This allows for superior alien crosstalk performance that exceeds industry standards while maintaining a small cable architecture. This tiny design allows clients to reduce installation costs by utilizing smaller trays and conduits in new constructions and reusing existing paths in retrofit projects.

“FDT is the most innovative shielded Cat 6A cable we have ever developed,” stated Todd Harpel, Senior Director of Global Copper Cables at Leviton. “Using our Precision Twist Technology, our engineers were able to eliminate the cable cross-filler, so we’ve made a solution that is smaller, lighter, and easier to install, reducing termination time and jobsite waste.”

MILLENNIUM Copper Systems offers consistent, high-quality performance to clients throughout the world, as well as environmentally aware solutions such as bulk pack alternatives, sustainably smart packaging, and other optimized product designs. These global systems are available via Leviton’s extensive distribution network.
