MAX USA Corp. has launched the RB613T-C, a connected rebar tying tool that ties up to #9 x #10 rebar and offers real-time tracking, remote locking and geofencing alerts through a web-based platform.
MAX says the cordless tool is meant to help contractors keep closer watch over their equipment. It is now available exclusively in the U.S. through authorized MAX dealers.
Built-in cellular and GPS links feed live location data to an online portal, so crews can find tools, check how they are being used, cut downtime and discourage theft, according to the company. The tool does not need to be switched on to be tracked, and tracking keeps working for as long as 30 days after the battery is pulled.
Managers can draw geofences around a jobsite and get an alert as soon as a tool moves outside that zone. The platform also shows each tool’s current status and can disable a missing unit from a distance.
A Tool Diagnostic View reports the tool’s condition, recommends upkeep before problems start, and flags errors with step-by-step fixes to keep downtime low.
The RB613T-C has a larger jaw capacity than most battery-powered rebar tying tools. Its tying speed is approximately half a second, about 15% faster than the RB611T, according to the company.
Powered by MAX’s TWINTIER technology, the tool delivers approximately 4,300 ties per charge. It works with the TW1061T Wire Series.
