LP Building Solutions Launches LP NovaCore Thermal Insulated Sheathing

LP Building Solutions (LP), a leading manufacturer of high-performance building products, has announced the release of LP NovaCore Thermal Insulated Sheathing, the latest innovation in the LP Structural Solutions range.

These dual-layered sheathing panels are designed to reduce thermal bridging and energy loss, assisting structures in becoming more energy-efficient and cost-effective over time.

“LP is committed to discovering new solutions to continuously evolve our portfolio of products with sustainability and efficiency in mind,” Chris Dall, Product Manager for LP Growth and Innovation, stated.

“As a product innovation team, we are focused on cultivating ideas that improve the portfolio to meet the product needs of building professionals across regions and climates. LP NovaCore sheathing is the latest example of our commitment to building out a solutions-based structural portfolio.”

LP NovaCore Thermal Insulated Sheathing is designed to protect against heat and cold by providing a continuous extruded polystyrene (XPS) barrier between inner dwelling spaces and the outside world.

It will be one of the market’s only insulated panel products that blends XPS foam with an oriented strand board (OSB) substrate.

Unlike some other foam insulation solutions, XPS foam provides continuous insulation with a higher R-value than normal sheathing and does not deteriorate over time.

Despite the additions for insulation, the product still employs conventional 24 spacing.

This significant advantage means that builders in many areas do not need to modify their framing to use this sheathing.

Dall added, “In the face of evolving building codes that only increase in complexity, LP provides solutions that allow builders to easily meet code requirements without complicated installation processes. Furthermore, as insulation requirements in building codes become stricter, insulated sheathing will become less of a ‘nice to have’ and more of a ‘need to have.'”

The LP NovaCore Thermal Insulated Sheathing is a structural solution that meets these code requirements by combining built-in code compliance and ease of installation for builders with energy efficiency and long-term value for homeowners.

The ability of LP NovaCore sheathing to reduce heating and cooling costs for homeowners by maintaining a stable indoor environment, as well as its adherence to both International Building Code (IBC) and International Residential Code (IRC) structural requirements, means that contractors can use the panels with confidence in any build.

In the summer of 2022, LP NovaCore Thermal Insulated Sheathing will be available.
