Hushframe Redefines Soundproofing For Multi-Family Development Following the Success of its Latest Ul Fire Resistance Testing

HushFrame decoupling removes the barrier to soundproofing floors and ceilings with a successful one-hour UL fire rating and wood furring assembly.

Builders and developers have been battling for years to find a cost-effective way to soundproof wood-framed constructions in order to meet acoustic code criteria.

They’ve tried a few different products with mixed results.

HushFrame now offers the only UL one-hour fire-rated wood furring floor/ceiling installation.

This assembly outperforms all competitors in terms of acoustics, as proven by outstanding laboratory STC and IIC ratings and excellent post-build acoustic field testing.

There is no need for gypcrete, metal hat channel, or a strong underlayment pad. The use of HushFrame rafts in this modest building saves money, materials, and space while offering remarkable acoustic seclusion.

Micah Logan, CEO of HushFrame, stated “The introduction of HushFrame decoupling rafts into the construction industry is analogous to the introduction of baking soda by Church and Dwight in 1867. They are single-product solutions to various problems.”

HushFrame uncovered the following uncomfortable truths during field and laboratory testing: Long-accepted building technologies, such as Resilient Channel, are failing to meet acoustic standards.

The majority of the noise isolation benefits are lost when metal isolation clips are installed in line with UL fire requirements.

“There have been many misleading performance claims for widely deployed building assembly designs and products” HushFrame CTO Alan Case noted.

HushFrame, on the other hand, has developed a simple, low-cost decoupling technology that, when installed inside walls and floor/ceilings, eliminates noise transmission, improving acoustic performance beyond what the building code demands and bringing it up to premium acoustic privacy levels.
