Marvin to Introduce Halio Smart-Tinting Glass to Residential Market

Marvin and Halio’s collaboration will bring Smart-tinting glass to the residential construction market, where homeowners want to design, comfort, flexibility, privacy, and control, as well as energy efficiency.

Marvin, a leading manufacturer of premium windows, doors, and skylights, announced today an agreement with Halio, Inc., the developer, and manufacturer of Halio smart-tinting glass.

This collaboration allows Marvin and Halio to bring the smart glass to the residential construction market by combining Marvin’s high-quality window and door products with Halio’s one-of-a-kind glazing solution.

“We are truly committed to well-being at Marvin,” said Paul Marvin, CEO of Marvin Windows and Doors, in a statement.

“We are focused on providing solutions that support happier and healthier living through maximizing light, air, and views in new ways.”

“This collaboration is the latest in a series of product introductions aimed at new ways of living. We’ve been waiting for a complete smart glass solution for the residential market for a long time, and Halio, the technology leader in architectural smart glass, is finally delivering. We are thrilled to be collaborating to bring this cutting-edge technology to architects and building professionals who design for the well-being of homeowners.” Marvin went on.

Halio, the industry leader in architectural smart glass technology, combines the most advanced electrochromic technologies with a powerful, secure, and easy-to-integrate cloud-based system, allowing the glass to tint automatically or on command.

Importantly, Halio achieves its darkest shade in just three minutes, adapting to changes in light through seamlessly smooth transitions that result in a lovely neutral color when tinted.

Because of Halio’s ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, it can maximize the amount of natural light entering a space while excluding excessive heat and glare.

Finally, Halio promotes indoor health and well-being while achieving the highest levels of energy efficiency.

Through its new joint venture with Halio, Marvin will bring this technology into an entirely new residential application, whereas it was previously only available in commercial construction.

As a result, homeowners can look forward to a more harmonious connection to the outdoors, with Halio offering both form and function to ensure a clutter-free, controlled indoor lighting experience.

“Halio has spent years developing the world’s most responsive and intelligent daylight management platform. We’ve developed a solution that incorporates all of the necessary characteristics to finally go mainstream, and now that we have it, the smart glass market has reached a long-awaited tipping point “said Bruce Sohn, Halio’s CEO.

“Marvin is the perfect partner to collaborate with to develop the high-performing products that will introduce residential consumers to the transformational benefits – comfort, natural light, and gorgeous design – of smart glass for the first time.” Sohn elaborated.

Marvin approaches innovation from a human-centered perspective, researching the evolution of home living to provide people-first products and solutions.

As a result, the company’s extensive window and door portfolio now include the Marvin Skycove, an immersive glass alcove, and the Marvin Awaken Skylight, a smart skylight.

Both of these solutions, which are firsts in the US building industry, offer homeowners new opportunities for improved indoor experiences.

The addition of smart glass to the company’s offerings broadens its offerings, providing even more modern living solutions.
