The collaboration between the companies is expected to result in a new door lifestyle and security functionality.
Masonite, a door manufacturer, and designer have introduced patent-pending technology that integrates power and internet connectivity into home doors.
This is Masonite’s most significant achievement in research and development since the company’s founding nearly a century ago, according to the Tampa, Florida-based corporation.
Masonite intends to capitalize on this ground-breaking technology through partnerships with digital doorbell manufacturer Ring and locks and hardware manufacturer Yale Home.
The companies’ collaboration is likely to result in additional lifestyle and security features embedded indoors, providing homeowners with added value and peace of mind.
“We believe power and connectivity will create expanded capabilities for homeowners,” Masonite senior vice president and chief innovation officer Cory Sorice said. We’re excited to collaborate with Ring and Yale to reimagine what consumers can expect from their doors as we continue to develop and deliver doors that do more.”

Masonite, which was founded over a century ago by William Mason, still operates the Masonite Innovation Center (MIC) in West Chicago. The institution is the world’s largest private R&D facility dedicated solely to doors and door innovations.
