Leviton announced the release of its new Decora Weather-Resistant Switch, the newest addition to the company’s outdoor solution portfolio and iconic range of Decora devices.
This revolutionary device is created as an all-in-one outdoor light switch alternative that is aesthetically beautiful and eliminates the need for a protective cover.
“Our Decora Weather-Resistant Switch adds convenience to outdoor living by providing a safe and easily accessible way to switch lights and motor loads on and off from the exterior of a home,” said William Randall, Leviton’s director of product management. “It is an important expansion to the existing line of Leviton outdoor solutions, which includes weather-resistant receptacles, GFCIs and USB Charger Devices.”
The new weather-resistant switch is made of UV stabilized thermoplastic and has enhanced corrosion protection to withstand the environment. Magnets are used to actuate a patent-pending design element, making the subplate/switch immune to water infiltration.
The gadget is designed to look like indoor Decora devices and has a rocker switch for easy operation. The device’s installation is simplified by the availability of side and rear wiring options. The Decora Weather-Resistant Switch is NEMA 3R rated to meet the requirements of the outdoor electrical code.
The Decora Weather-Resistant Switch is great for residential and commercial outdoor kitchens and bars, lighting, patios, pool and spa areas, sheds, gazebos, cabanas, ceiling fans, and fountains since it is designed for usage in wet or damp situations.
The Leviton Decora Weather-Resistant Switch comes in 15A Single Pole and 3-Way variants in white and gray. It comes with a 2-year limited warranty.
