Honeywell is Digitizing Fire Systems in order to Make People and Places Safer

Honeywell, a global pioneer in fire and life safety, introduced the first fire alarm system with UL-certified self-testing smoke detectors that can be tested autonomously, revolutionizing how fire and life safety systems are installed, tested, and maintained.

The NOTIFIER INSPIRE fire alarm system with Self-Test detectors is intended to help create a safer building environment by raising facility managers’ awareness of system requirements and providing service providers with digital self-testing tools that streamline maintenance, support regulatory compliance, and system uptime.

NOTIFIER INSPIRE is a comprehensive fire system that provides dependable protection, scalability, effective monitoring, and flexible and timely reporting. It improves firefighter efficiency since it is built to scale based on the needs of the facility, reduces the need for equipment replacements, and provides secure connectivity.

“Honeywell is integrating intelligence across all aspects of fire and life safety systems,” stated Honeywell’s worldwide president of Fire, Jurgen Van Goethem. “By digitizing the most critical system in the building, we increase efficiencies during commissioning and maintenance, improve system dependability, and enhance the end-user experience. We’re also striving to transform building owners’ perceptions of fire and life safety systems as more than just a required system for occupants, but as a system with a wealth of data that we can tap into in the future to ultimately better protect lives. This will assist the industry in creating safer and more compliant structures.”

The NOTIFIER INSPIRE series with Self-Test smoke detectors is securely enabled via Honeywell’s cloud-based Connected Life Safety Services (CLSS) platform. CLSS gives installation, service personnel, and facility managers real-time visibility into the fire system, allowing them to detect and troubleshoot problems ahead of time, improving first-time fix rates and lowering time spent on-site.

A life-safety system that expands with the structure

NOTIFIER INSPIRE is modular, allowing for easy expansion and improvements, resulting in a system that evolves with the building. The solution decreases the quantity of equipment required, lowering the possibility of maintenance, replacement parts, and overall inventory management. Its sleek and easy touchscreen display reduces human mistake while maintaining an attractive appearance. It can help improve technician efficiency by reducing disturbance, increasing remote productivity, and promoting compliance.

    A self-testing and detecting solution

NOTIFIER Self-Test eliminates several physical barriers during testing and maintenance, such as locked rooms, high ceilings, and other difficult-to-access regions – areas that may go untested, putting buildings at danger. The detectors introduce modest amounts of heat and smoke into their own detecting chambers, testing both the photo and thermal sensors and ensuring that smoke entry points are clear.

Most importantly, a single technician may initiate the test for the entire building at the NOTIFIER INSPIRE panel, avoiding disruptions in working spaces and removing the need to access difficult-to-reach regions such as elevator shafts. The inspection report is digitized and electronically delivered via the CLSS program in minutes, a job that used to take up to an hour, creating a comprehensive end-to-end electronic audit trail to enable full compliance.
NOTIFIER INSPIRE series with Self-Test detector is already available in the United States through NOTIFIER by Honeywell and will be available globally soon.
