ETi Solid State Lighting Introduces Plasma Disinfection Technology Proven to Kill Bacteria and Viruses, Including SARS-CoV-2, The Virus That Causes SARS COVID-19

ETi Solid State Lighting Inc., a leading developer of LED lighting systems and luminaires, announced today the release of a new line of LED light fixtures proven to kill bacteria and viruses, including SARS-Cov-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

The SilentAire Plasma Disinfection Lighting product range represents a technological advance in safe air disinfection.

The SilentAire plasma line-up includes LED flush mounts, downlights, flat panels, and more that combine ambient LED illumination with revolutionary patent-pending, built-in “cold” plasma bipolar ionization technology and are ideal for virtually any indoor residential, commercial, or industrial application.

None of the fixtures require any special operation or installation, and they are all easily controlled by a conventional wall switch. Dimmability, up to five color temperature settings (CCT), and different working mode options are standard features.

All SilentAire plasma products are safe to use in occupied spaces and pose no danger to people, pets, or plants.

Independent third-party laboratory testing by Innovative Bioanalysis in Costa Mesa, CA verified that SilentAire plasma disinfection light fixtures actively kill and inactivate viruses and bacteria with a kill rate of more than 99.9%, including SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

“These laboratory findings indicate that plasma technology is a safe and effective way to improve air quality and reduce the spread of airborne diseases” stated Eva Chan, CEO of ETi Solid State Lighting, Inc.

“Because of their ability to rid the air of airborne infections, ions have long been known as “nature’s filter.” Introducing ions into a room improves not only the air quality by eliminating particles, pet dander, and dust, but it also removes odors and VOCs, as well as destroying bacteria and viruses, including COVID-19. Bipolar ionization is a natural, safe way to improve air quality and reduce the transmission of airborne infections.”

Pathogens like the SARS-CoV-2 virus can survive on particles as small as 0.1 micron in size, making them nearly hard to catch with ordinary or even HEPA filters.

The only all-natural, safe air disinfection option that successfully targets particles smaller than 0.3 microns is plasma bipolar ionization technology.

ETi Solid State Lighting’s patent-pending plasma technology is the first of its type to be successfully incorporated into light fixtures as an active air treatment solution.

ETi Solid State Lighting’s commercial and retail channels now have SilentAire Plasma Disinfection Light Fixtures in stock. The EPA has approved and registered SilentAire fittings (No.: 9917-CHN-1).

Key Takeaways

  • ETi Solid State Lighting’s SilentAire plasma light fixtures combine traditional ambient illumination with active air disinfection via an integrated patent-pending Plasma Technology generator.
  • Internal Plasma Generator with Patent-Pending Cold Plasma BiPolar Ionization Technology actively treats and disinfects air while killing germs and viruses, including SARS-CoV-2.
  • SilentAire Plasma Disinfection Light Fixtures have been thoroughly tested and verified to kill bacteria and viruses at a kill rate of +99.9%, including SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.*
  • Innovative Bioanalysis at Costa Mesa, CA, conducted independent third-party laboratory testing against SARS-CoV-2.
  • Ions are naturally occurring and surround us all the time, hence there are no hazards associated with cold plasma bipolar ionization technology.
  • SilentAire luminaires do not require any extra installation and may be controlled by just flipping a conventional wall switch.
  • LED flush mounts, downlights, flat panels, and other products are available for practically every indoor use, including offices, schools, healthcare, and senior living facilities, and residential, industrial, and commercial channels.
  • ETi SSL commercial and retail distribution channels now offer SilentAire Plasma Disinfection lighting products.

*12″ Flush Mount tested in a 18m3 (600 cubic ft) chamber for 2 hours on SARS-CoV-2 (also known as COVID-19) with two fixtures in high-speed mode. 99.99% of SARS-CoV-2 (also known as COVID-19) was removed from the air. It has not been proven to prevent the spread of COVID-19. No air treatment technology can ensure virus transmission avoidance. We recommend adhering to the CDC’s recommendations. Individual test results can be found in the product specifications.
