Smardt, a leader in energy-efficient HVAC systems, unveiled its new Smardt ECO AeroMod modular air-cooled chiller platform. This milestone represents a strategic expansion beyond Smardt’s core oil-free centrifugal product line, presenting a high-performance solution designed for scalable efficiency, modular flexibility, and seamless integration across a wide range of commercial and industrial building types. The AeroMod platform is part of the newly announced Smardt ECO line, which stands for Efficient, Conventional, and Optimized. It is meant to give top-tier performance by utilizing established, non-oil-free compressor technology.

Smardt ECO AeroMod: Key Features
- Modular design: 30 and 40-ton modules, connect up to 10 units for a total of 400 tons.
- refrigerant: R-454B (low GWP)
- Compressors: Two variable-speed scroll compressors per unit.
- Fans: EC Fans with Advanced Airflow Control
- All-aluminum microchannel condenser coils.
- Redundancy and turndown: Up to 20 compressors spanning 10 modules, with turndown to <2%.
Designed for Scalable Performance
AeroMod’s edge-to-edge modular design allows for the coupling of up to ten units with no clearance between modules, thanks to internal piping headers. This small size and versatility enable for easy extension and phasing of building cooling capacity.
Each AeroMod device has high part-load efficiency and built-in redundancy. With precise chilled water temperature management, a single module can unload to 15% of its capacity. A full 10-module arrangement enables dynamic turndown to less than 2% of total load, providing optimal energy utilization even at low demand.
Smart Integration for Modern Building Systems
AeroMod, with its user-friendly 7-inch touchscreen interface and full connectivity with major building automation systems, is designed for modern integration. Single-point power and water connections simplify installation and speed up commissioning.
