TAMKO Building Products Introduces Two New Shingles

TAMKO Building Products is launching two new Heritage Proline shingle products, Titan XT and StormFighter IR, with a combination of product features and technologies designed to meet consumer preferences and demands.

A proprietary poly-fabric reinforcement is applied to the back of both shingle series—on the Titan XT shingle through the common bond and across the entire backside of the StormFighter IR shingle.

This provides an additional layer of wind and impact resistance, as well as an anchor for nails to embed in the expanded nailing zone, which is up to five times larger than the nailing zone on traditional Heritage shingles.

An additional asphalt weathering layer protects the top of the shingle, and a long series of Advanced Fusion sealants are designed to quickly fuse the shingles to the roof deck.

The StormFighter IR shingle’s additional reinforcement layer qualifies it for a UL 2218 Class 4 Impact Rating.

“StormFighter IR shingles were designed to provide the most sought-after benefits of a Class 4 shingle to both contractors and homeowners,” said Stephen McNally, vice president of sales and marketing at TAMKO Building Products.

The WindGuard warranty from TAMKO covers both products in winds up to 160 mph with as few as four nails installed in the expanded nailing zone.

“With StormFighter IR, contractors can enjoy quick and easy installation, while homeowners can be confident in the value this shingle will bring to their homes thanks to enhanced product features and the best impact-rated asphalt shingle wind warranty in the roofing industry,” McNally added.
