Diablo Tools introduced the Steel Demon® CermetX™ circular saw blade on Oct. 13, 2026, from Atlanta, a one-blade solution for cutting mild and stainless steels with minimal sparks. The blade is available now wherever Diablo products are sold, including The Home Depot.
The blade targets the problems of abrasive cut-off discs: slow speeds, frequent blade changes and inconsistent performance. Diablo says cuts made with abrasive discs can run hotter than 500 degrees and often need rework. Trade pros must wait for materials to cool between cuts, and excessive sparks can trigger hot-work permits.
Diablo bills CermetX as the first steel-cutting blade in the industry to combine the cleanest, coolest and longest-lasting cuts. The company claims up to 40X longer blade life, 15X faster cutting and 2X more cuts per battery charge, along with fewer sparks, fewer hot-work permits, less overheating and less cleanup.
CermetX uses Diablo’s Cermet (ceramic and metallic blend) teeth, which provide high heat tolerance and durability. Triple Chip Grind (TCG) tooth geometry produces large chips instead of the harmful dust that abrasive discs create, reducing airborne contaminants. A new thin-kerf design delivers high-speed, controlled cutting and more cuts per charge.
The blade builds on Diablo’s earlier Steel Demon™ Cermet Blade series, which Diablo says was the first one-blade solution for precise, burr-free cuts with minimal sparks in mild and stainless steel.
