Pioneer Millworks Unveils Reclaimed and Reimagined Flooring Line, The Sunset Collection

The Sunset Collection, which is FSC certified and handcrafted in the United States, is inspired by the golden hour, when the end of the day becomes a new beginning—the wonderful moment when the sun and horizon create a stunning palette in real time.

Pioneer Millworks, a Rochester-based manufacturer of sustainable and recycled wood flooring, paneling, and siding, has introduced a new engineered flooring line.

The Sunset Collection, which is FSC certified and handcrafted in the United States, is inspired by the golden hour, when the end of the day becomes a new beginning—the wonderful moment when the sun and horizon create a stunning palette in real time.

This new recovered and engineered flooring collection is built from domestic oaks derived from the distinctive four rail fences that dominate America’s pasturelands. With glimpses of its prior existence visible in the grain and fractures, this salvaged wood tells the stories of caged thoroughbreds, trail riders, and wanderlust tourists.

This reclaimed and engineered oak flooring is both dependable and durable, having been designed and built for stability, performance, and convenience of installation in a wide range of settings. The Sunset Collection thrives in a wide range of settings, from well-known restaurants and retail stores to the intimacy of bespoke cabins and high-end houses.

Pioneer Millworks sales manager, Jered Slusser, says, “We are excited to change the face of the reclaimed wood industry with the Sunset Collection.” Repurposed wood does not have to be rustic and rough; it can also look clean and sleek. We designed this line to highlight the exquisite grains and intrinsic detailing of our recovered oak, as well as to provide the particular finishes that today’s consumers want.”

The Sunset Collection, made at our employee-owned mills in McMinnville, Oregon, and Farmington, New York, is finished with an all-natural plant-based UV Cured Hard-Wax Oil in seven exclusive colors. Our UV curing process assures speedy drying and easy installation that is simple to maintain. Most importantly, our finishes are long-lasting and safe for humans, animals, and the environment.

The Sunset Collection is not just reliable and stable, but also diversified and versatile. It is suitable for any design goal, including flooring, wall paneling, millwork, and shelving. The single-width planks and consistency of the original fence boards make it a reliable solution for any job, and it’s easily adjustable for herringbone and chevron installations.

A professional Topcoat is available for all Pioneer Millworks Hard-Wax Oil finishes, allowing you to use the Sunset Collection in more professional settings. The Commercial Topcoat can be wet mopped and will withstand high-traffic areas with less visible wear.
