IDEAL Electrical is thrilled to announce the addition of two revolutionary circuit tracer models to its industry-leading product portfolio. The IDEAL Electrical SureTrace Circuit Tracer (61-946) and the IDEAL Electrical SureTrace Plus Circuit Tracer (61-948) will improve the popular SureTrace line by combining cutting-edge technology at a lower cost.
The new models were created with electrician feedback to make electrical troubleshooting easier than before. The Plus (61-948) edition sets itself apart with a game-changing new feature: an integrated continuity test to detect shorts and splice problems. In addition to this patent-pending innovation, the PLUS will include the IDEAL Electrical signature test and measurement technology (TightSight rotating display), which makes readings easier and clearer than anything else on the market.

The first of the new variants, the SureTrace Circuit Tracer (61-946), is certified up to CAT III 480V and has a redesigned chip design for better performance. This low-cost variant features an ergonomic, durable design that improves grip and durability, allowing the circuit tracer to resist a drop of up to two meters (about six and a half feet). Furthermore, the circuit tracer receiver’s incorporated illumination makes it easier to use in low-light situations, and the transmitter has a kickstand and an optional magnetic hanging strap for versatile setup or hanging choices.
The IDEAL Electrical SureTrace Plus Circuit Tracer (61-948) offers all of the upgrades of the 61-946 model, as well as additional functions. The PLUS is rated up to CAT III 600V and has color-coded indications for voltage levels (AC or DC), DC polarity, and PPE notification. The innovative TightSight display on the bottom of this model’s receiver allows electricians to view the tracer while accessing cables overhead or deep within a distribution panel. The IDEAL SureTrace Plus Circuit Tracer is unique in the market as it includes a patent-pending built-in continuity tester.
