Five Clayton Home Building Facilities will donate over $68,000 to the Morristown Regional Cancer Center

Clayton Home Building Group, a national builder of affordable housing, presented Morristown Regional Cancer Center with a $68,090.30 check for their Patient Assistance Fund at five East Tennessee home building facilities.

The Patient Assistance Fund at the center assists cancer patients and their families with treatment, medication, transportation, utility bills, and other basic needs during and after treatment.

Clayton Home Building Group team members at Clayton Bean Station, TRU White Pine, Clayton Supply Morristown I, Clayton Supply Morristown II, and Clayton Rutledge raised money for the fund during October and November, with their facilities and The Clayton Homes Foundation matching some or all of the team member contributions to total $68,090.30.

Clayton home building facilities have contributed more than $180,000 to the fund since 2017. The donation this year is the largest yet, with more facilities participating than ever before. This year’s fundraising efforts included T-shirt and hardhat sticker sales, chili cook-offs, cutest dog contests, and even pie-in-the-face raffles.

“As a former patient at the Morristown Regional Cancer Center, it means so much to me to see my colleagues continue to support the center that helped me,” said Jody Charles, Team Member Experience Manager at Clayton Bean Station.

“I’ve been cancer-free for four years, and the number of facilities involved in this project grows every year. Our team members’ efforts and dedication in raising funds for the Cancer Center are simply incredible. I am so proud of my teammates and to be a part of an organization that gives so much back to our community.”

“We are extremely thankful for our partnership with Clayton,” Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System Chief Administrative Officer Gordon Lintz said.

Lintz continued “The funds they have raised will benefit many cancer patients, and the significance of this donation cannot be overstated. They are truly making a difference in the lives of cancer patients in our community.”
