Barrette Outdoor Living’s Versatile RDI Collection Privacy Rail Converts Decks and Patios into Private Retreats

With an increasing number of homeowners looking for ways to create privacy around decks and patios, Barrette Outdoor Living’s RDI Collection Privacy Rail offers a highly versatile solution that is not only attractive but also simple to install and maintain.

A homeowner may want to add a privacy feature to their deck or patio for a variety of reasons, including unsightly clutter in a neighbor’s yard, reducing noise from a nearby road, or simply creating an intimate, relaxing outdoor getaway.

Whatever the case may be, the RDI Collection Privacy Rail provides modern styling with design flexibility to meet the needs of homeowners.

The RDI Collection Privacy Rail, with 6′ wide premium powder coated matte black or white aluminum framing available in full (6′) or half (42″) heights, can incorporate Barrette Outdoor Living’s vinyl boards, award-winning Decorative Screen Panels (DSPs), or a combination of the two, as infills.

Tongue-and-groove vinyl infill boards include ClickConnect, a locking system that connects the boards without gaps, providing privacy and strength against wind and other potentially damaging elements.

Because aluminum posts are slotted and do not require brackets, installing vinyl boards is simple — simply stack the infill boards, insert the top rail, and screw them into place.

Homeowners can create a semi-private option by using vinyl boards in the bottom section and DSPs in the top section, both of which are available in a variety of unique patterns and colors. DSPs easily slide into place using a special adaptor kit to create a custom, contemporary look.

Barrette Outdoor Living discovered a great way to provide a product that offers homeowners an easy way to showcase their creative style — and to have an outdoor product that will be the envy of the neighborhood — all while creating the privacy level that suits their needs by incorporating DSPs into the RDI Collection Privacy Rail.

If homeowners use DSPS as railing infills, they can provide design continuity by using them in other areas of the yard or house, such as traditional under deck coverage, as exterior or interior wall artwork, or as privacy screening and room dividers.

Barrette Outdoor Living also offers select vinyl and mixed-material fencing, pergolas, and DSP frame kits that integrate DSPs.

    Screen Panels Decorative

Barrette Outdoor Living’s 3′ x 6′ Decorative Screen Panels (DSPs) are compatible with the RDI Collection Privacy Rail and can be used as infills.

DSPs are made of impact- and scratch-resistant polypropylene, a long-lasting material designed to withstand extreme weather conditions with minimal expansion and contraction. Below are compatible DSP patterns:

    • Sanibel
    • Boardwalk
    • River Rock
    • Optic
