InEight Launches Project Controls Solution to Manage Alternative Delivery Projects

InEight Inc., a global leader in capital project and program management software, has announced the release of InEight Design, which provides an integrated project controls process for alternative delivery projects to successfully manage design scopes and provide traceability in design quantities.

Synchronizing design and construction data fills a previously unmet need for stakeholder collaboration and shared visibility, as envisioned by alternative delivery methods.

The technology is being released following a successful pilot in which it was used on more than $14 billion in design-build and other alternative delivery projects, reducing design quantity growth risk by up to 20% and engineering costs by 10%.

Customers can now eliminate surprises that impact budgets and schedules on alternative delivery projects by improving visibility into design progress and aligning construction work with the most recent design quantities.

InEight’s Chief Product Officer, Brad Barth, stated: “Construction demand is increasing globally, and alternative delivery contracting models are becoming the norm for large complex projects. Managing and controlling the design scope of these projects is critical to overall success, but design firms have traditionally relied on disconnected spreadsheets to help manage their work. This powerful design management solution fills that void by offering a project controls solution for design work that promotes visibility, collaboration, and accountability among the various stakeholders involved in these projects.”

As the design work progresses through 30-60-90-IFC milestones, the software assists engineering and design teams in controlling scopes, managing resources, predicting completion dates, tracking progress, and managing earned values.

As a result of improved coordination, accountability, and visibility across design and construction teams, surprises on alternative delivery projects are avoided.
