Wayne Dalton launches new hydraulic dock levelers, Models H68WD and H78WD, that have been built for durability, safety, and ease of installation. These models, designed for challenging settings, are the latest additions to the brand’s growing dock equipment collection, reinforcing its position as a Total Solutions Partner. The H68WD and H78WD models, with a variety of unique design characteristics, set a new benchmark for field performance and installer-friendly functionality.
Wayne Dalton engineers included safety elements to strengthen the hydraulic dock leveler while keeping the installation process simple. Both variants are equipped with a textured powder-coat finish, three-wheel support bracing, and retractable full-range toe protectors. The building-to-truck transit, which was planned with forklift operators in mind, was intended to ensure smooth product shifts.
“Our X frame design provides a much cleaner pit design than others in the industry,” Technical Sales Dock Manager Tim Wolfe explained. “Unlike other hydraulic dock levelers, installers only place shims under the main cylinder, adjustable lip keepers and maintenance brace.”
To ensure maximum performance and safety, the hydraulic lift cylinder is located in the center of the unit. The rear hinge has cutouts that identify fillet weld areas, making installation easier.
“Our deck-to-beam weld coverage is an industry-leading 34%, ensuring long-term durability,” explains Dor Gamliel, dock product engineering manager.
Four steel fork loops fastened to the deck ensure that the levelers can be lifted from a truck safely. These loops allow forklifts to hoist chains from either the inside or outside of the building, preventing sliding when the levelers are stacked.
These aspects maintain process stability and safety. The adjustable leveling bolts on the top side rapidly align the hydraulic dock leveler with the building floor, eliminating the need for shimming or welding at the pit’s rear.
The H68WD and H78WD models have Comparative Industry Rating (CIR) capacities of 30k, 35k, 40k, and 45k and are ANSI MH30.1-2022 approved. When combined with a Wayne Dalton commercial door, these models are covered by an extended two-year limited guarantee.
