Overhead Door is introducing new hydraulic dock leveler models, H68R and H78R, to strengthen their position as a full dock equipment manufacturer. “Our X frame design provides a much cleaner pit design than others in the industry,” Technical Sales Dock Manager Tim Wolfe explained. “Unlike other hydraulic dock levelers, installers only place shims under the main cylinder, adjustable lip keepers and maintenance brace.”
The Overhead Door company considered more than just the design of its hydraulic dock leveler models. Engineers at the company also took into account additional safety measures, ease of installation processes, and easy building-to-truck transitions for installers, contractors, and forklift operators. Each model includes textured powder-coat finishes, three-wheel support bracing, and removable full-range toe protectors as standard.
The hydraulic lift cylinder is located in the center of the device for optimal performance and safety. Cutouts on the rear hinge identify fillet weld areas, allowing for speedier installation. Levelers come equipped with four steel fork loops bolted to the deck, which provide stability when removing the product off a vehicle. The loops aid in forklift installation onto the dock from inside or outside the structure and reduce slippage while the levelers are stacked on top of one another. The hydraulic dock leveler’s top side adjustable leveling bolts allow for easy alignment with the building floor, eliminating the need for shimming or welding at the pit’s back.Dor Gamliel, dock product engineering manager, stated that the industry-leading 34% deck-to-beam weld coverage ensures long-term durability.
Both versions are ANSI MH30.1-2022 approved and come in capacities of 30k, 35k, 40k, and 45k Comparative Industry Rating (CIR). When ordered with an Overhead Door commercial door, models H68R and H78R come with an improved two-year limited guarantee.
