3M Fastbond Pressure Sensitive Adhesive 1049 with PowerCore Launched

It is designed using revolutionary technology to be solventless and non-flammable, and it may also assist them in meeting environmental health and safety (EHS) objectives.

Builders and industrial designers now have a new alternative for addressing their most difficult bonding difficulties in a more sustainable way. 3M Fastbond Pressure Sensitive Adhesive 1049 delivers the performance and productivity that 3M clients expect in a new portable, ergonomically designed cylinder delivery system from Worthington Enterprises.

3M Fastbond Pressure Sensitive Adhesive 1049, with its next-generation, water-based composition, assists businesses in meeting their targets for reducing volatile organic compounds (VOCs), solvents, and other targeted substances. It is designed using revolutionary technology to be solventless and non-flammable, and it may also assist them in meeting environmental health and safety (EHS) objectives. It is a long-term, effective, and versatile bonding solution that improves production, reduces waste, and increases safety.

“As emissions regulations around the world become increasingly stringent, we’re excited to introduce this innovative and versatile adhesive in a new portable spray system that increases speed, efficiency, and comfort,” said Lori Cherry, 3M’s director of sprayable adhesives. “This product offers our customers a more sustainable adhesive that still meets their needs for performance and productivity.”

Developed in collaboration with Worthington Enterprises, the self-contained, portable PowerCore cylinder is a corrosion-resistant, portable spray solution that provides the power to complete projects faster, easier, and more cost-effectively. The new disposable nozzle system, which draws on the knowledge of the 3M Performance Spray Gun for the automotive industry, helps maximize operating throughput and coverage, resulting in more productivity and less waste.

The adhesive itself provides a fast, aggressive tack for a quick, one-surface attachment that allows for immediate repositioning, reducing rework and material loss. The 3M Fastbond Pressure Sensitive Adhesive 1049 is suited for lightweight bonding applications such as insulation and construction sites.

3M has been a pioneer in industrial-strength spray adhesive technology for over 50 years, and it is currently leading the way in satisfying market expectations for lower VOCs and more sustainable adhesive solutions. 3M has committed to investing $1 billion in sustainability activities over the next 20 years, as well as incorporating sustainability into all new products.
