Leviton Expands Smart Wallbox Sensor Line with Multi-Technology Models

Leviton expanded the Smart Wallbox Sensor line with four new multi-technology variants that include PIR and digital microphonics.

Microphonics technology detects human activity behind barriers, making it excellent for keeping lights on in multi-stall toilets, offices, and conference rooms. The new models add to the Smart Wallbox Sensors solution by offering a simple commercial-grade solution that includes occupancy/vacancy detection, switching, and dimming for straightforward energy savings and code compliance.

To advance microphonic detection, these sensors make use of cutting-edge digital signal processing technologies. These Smart Multi-Tech Wallbox Sensors, which include unique Leviton detection algorithms and powerful digital PIR detectors, deliver unrivaled microphonic sensing precision.

“Leviton’s Smart Multi-Tech Wallbox Sensors are ideal for code compliance applications and deliver the same great features as the rest of the popular Smart Wallbox Sensor line,” remarks Tom Leonard, vice president of controls at Leviton. “These sensors deliver robust capabilities with industry exclusive features including digital signal processing, 1000W LED dimming rating, partial-on and partial-off dimming to meet additional code requirements, and the ability to create custom templates to quickly program multiple rooms.”

The extension includes the Smart Multi-Tech Wallbox Switch Sensor (ODSMT-MDx), which combines occupancy/vacancy sensing and switching. Smart Multi-Tech 0-10V Dimming Wallbox Sensor (ODDMT-MDx), Smart Multi-Tech 24V Dimming Wallbox Sensor (ODDMT-MLW), and Smart Multi-Tech 1000W Dimming Wallbox Sensor (ODP10-M1x) are three further versions that integrate occupancy/vacancy sensing with dimming, partial-on, and partial-off capabilities.

Leviton’s Smart Wallbox Sensor series can detect small motion up to 400 square feet and substantial motion up to 1,100 square feet. Programming and configuration options include the out-of-the-box default mode, push button configuration, and the Smart Sensor App for more sophisticated settings.

Smart Wallbox Sensors can be utilized to meet IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, and 2022 Title 24, Part 6 occupancy/vacancy detection, dimming, manual control, and receptacle control standards.
