TonyView Corner Window System Replaces Solid Building Corners with Load-Bearing Glass

San Diego-based TonyView has launched a patented structural corner window system that replaces a solid building corner with glass while keeping full structural performance. The system integrates directly into conventional residential framing.

The design gives architects, builders, and homeowners post-free glass corners without cantilevered beams. A welded stainless steel sub-frame redistributes structural loads, and the company says the assembly supports up to three floors of building load, or up to 26 kips. It suits both new construction and retrofit applications.

The system combines a 304 stainless steel structural framework, a PVC thermal break glazing cassette, and laminated structural glass. It exceeded Miami-Dade hurricane testing standards, with frame deflection of 0.01 inches against a 1/2-inch allowable standard and zero air and water infiltration.

TonyView works with doors and windows from any manufacturer. The structural corner is replaced by a horizontal glass opening of about 9 inches. The system carries UES certifications.

Founder Tony Madureira, a longtime contractor, developed the idea for a corner in his own home. “I was excited to get home that night,” said Tony Madureira, Founder of TonyView.

Describing the finished installation, Madureira said, “I went through my kitchen and entered the family room where it was installed. And right there and then I had what I call my ‘Wow’ moment. That horizontal 9″ sliver of glass opening with my door set made me feel like I was in a glass enclosure. It was a surreal moment.”
