Autodesk Construction Cloud Adds New Data Sharing Features to Transform Construction Collaboration

Autodesk, Inc. introduced Bridge, a new collaboration capability that allows construction teams to share only relevant data with project stakeholders, regardless of whether they are on the same team or working on the same building project in Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Bridge gives teams control over their project data sets by allowing them to share specific sheets, folders, and files with collaborators without sharing all project information.

Bridge’s new collaboration capabilities reduce the need for manual data transfer and management while also providing confidence that everyone is working from the same information, minimizing rework and saving teams time and money, which has a direct impact on their bottom lines.

“Communicating relevant information with each stakeholder in a timely manner can be a manual and time-consuming process that often leads to data loss and miscommunication, putting us at risk of rework, increased costs, and extended timelines,” said Luis Angel Garcia, BIM specialist at SSOE Group.

“Sharing entire projects with team members, on the other hand, can jeopardize the privacy and necessitates time-consuming permission setting.

Bridge from Autodesk Construction Cloud allows us to automatically share relevant information with stakeholders while still maintaining control over our project data.

Bridge dramatically simplifies our collaboration across teams and projects, allowing us to complete work on time and on budget.”

“Every construction project is different and our customers need the flexibility to collaborate according to the needs of each project,” said Sameer Merchant, vice president of product development at Autodesk Construction Solutions.

“Furthermore, different stakeholders must maintain agency over the data relevant to their work on a project. The Bridge is a game-changing new collaboration capability that empowers teams with the autonomy and flexibility to manage their own data.

Project stakeholders can manage their own project instances, saving time, money, and the confusion that comes with managing external collaborator permissions and manual send and receive’ workflows.”

Bridges project data for internal and external teams.

Bridge gives project members the flexibility they need to share relevant information with different teams and projects using Autodesk Construction Cloud, facilitating smoother collaboration and completing projects on time and on budget.

General contractors have a simple solution for coordinating work across trades and providing visibility to owners, all while ensuring owned project information is documented and saved in a centralized location.

General contractors can now use Bridge to share data with different teams and projects from one main, easy-to-manage instance, whether they are working on a large project and want to split each component into its own sub-project or want to break out projects for trades to meet privacy mandates set by owners.

Specialty trades can share important information with general contractors, such as project installation progress while keeping their own data within their own project instances.

If they have multiple ongoing projects, trade teams can also consolidate their data into a single, easy-to-manage internal location for a consolidated view that improves analytics and future decision making.

When owners link data using Bridge, they gain clear visibility into project performance and construction documentation.

In manual “send and receive” workflows, information is not lost, and the data required to make timely project decisions are easier to find.

Designers can share the most recent design documents with owners and contractors, as well as monitor how the design intent is being carried out during construction.

The bridge allows designers to protect their intellectual property and share only the necessary sheets and files, all while saving time on manual “send and receive” workflows.

Customers who use Autodesk Construction Cloud’s web applications now have access to Bridge at no additional cost. Click here for a free trial or here for a demo.
